With an aim to capitalise on vast experiences within EU projects and funding, in order to provide opportunities for Macedonian and regional companies’ access to finance and partnerships, AcrossLimits Malta and PrimePoint Partners jointly held an online webinar on the 3rdof June, where Angele Giuliano shared her insights.
In outlining what you can get from the EUand what the EU needs from you, Angele provided an overview of the European Union’s bodies, institutions and agencies including CINEA, EISMEA, JRC, EIT, efsa, HADEA and others, as well as the EU’s Multiannual Financial Framework (2021-2027), considering the EU’s vast complexity.
With centralised EU funding programmes, which are managed by the Commission in Brussels and in Luxemburg, as well as decentralised programmes, which are administered by the various European Union Member States, and hybrid programmes, there remains various opportunities for organisations, entrepreneurs and start-ups. For example, towards the end of 2020 new forms of providing financial support to third parties were experimented with where cascade funding was the outcome. This eliminates the administrative burden associated with proposals and tenders and includes formal and informal funding. Among the other opportunities presented on were Interreg, which assists regional and local governments across Europe to develop and deliver better policy (you may recall PrimePoints efforts regarding the Cross-Border Acceleration Program, or iCBA), and Blue Invest, which supports the development of innovation services and technologies, providing grants to SMEs with innovative products, technologies and services for the blue economy.
Eureka, focusing on international R&D projects; Erasmus+, education, training, youth and sport; Cosme InvestEU Programme & SMP, focusing on SMEs; and HorizonEU, research and innovation, were amongst some of the future calls highlighted in the webinar. These can all be found published online by relevant European bodies and should be checked regularly as each programme develops over time.
The webinar ended with a Q&A, where Angele’s advice to the participants was to: familiarise yourself with the EU programmes, specify the needs and requirements for which you need support, get in touch with experts (such as AcrossLimits or PrimePoint Partners), and work together to achieve success.
PrimePoint Partners are open to providing expert support. If you’d be interested in a meeting to further discuss funding opportunities, or would like a copy of the presentation slides please contact us at email@example.com.
We hope you enjoyed the webinar and we look forward to hearing from you!
