Fostering Economic Inclusion and Skills Development: Makprogres and PrimePoint Partners Kick Off Transformative New Program with EBRD Support

Makprogres and PrimePoint Partners are thrilled to announce the kick-off of a new transformative program to address skills shortages and foster sustainable growth in the eastern part of Macedonia. Supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and its Gender and Economic Inclusion Technical Assistance Framework – Skills and Employment, this initiative will ensure extension of the flagship activities that have already been implemented in Vinica.

Under the EBRD’s Economic Inclusion Program, which began in April 2019 and concluded in 2022, the project partners established the first certified Academy for Executive Management in the country and a Vocational Education and Training (VET) Centre for the employees of Makprogres. The Centre has been instrumental in providing subsidized training in an underserved area, promoting lifelong professional development, preventing brain drain among young people in the region, and ensuring skills development for current and future Makprogres employees.

Building on the success of the initial program, Makprogres, through the Progressive Foundation will work on further expanding the training opportunities while also addressing the needs of businesses and individuals in the region and beyond. The program extension will provide upskilling and reskilling opportunities for the regional workforce, especially youth and women in the food production industry. It will also enhance skills for top executives and mid-level managers from the companies in the region through a number of new management training programs. The program will include business acceleration opportunities for startups and individuals interested in collaborating with Makprogres and other companies from the region.

The skills development program, which focuses on addressing skills shortages for sustainable growth in the eastern part of Macedonia, is implemented by PrimePoint Partners from Skopje and co-financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and its Gender and Economic Inclusion Technical Assistance Framework – Skills and Employment Together, we aim to empower youth, women, and professionals in the region by opening new opportunities and pathways to success.

Stay tuned for updates and training opportunities!
