Session 2 – Sustainable Blue Economy Ecosystems – EU & Mediterranean Best Practice will be moderated by Mr. Vladimir Kotevski, a representative from the Prime Blue ESG Institute, Ohrid.
The speakers of this panel consist of:
- Roberto Ruiz, the Trade and Economic counselor at the Embassy of Spain. Mr. Ruiz will give an overall perspective of the EU’s green and blue development agenda, referring to the EU Blue Economy Report 2022, followed by a video presentation from the Spanish Maritime Cluster, showcasing the best practice from the broader Mediterranean region.
- Pietro Angelini, the President of the biggest Maritime Cluster in Italy – Navigo Toscana. Navigo is the largest network of nautical companies in Italy, and one of the most important in Europe, providing expertise in cluster creation, nautical innovation, reskilling, and upskilling of staff as well as development and implementation of maritime projects related to the clean environment, green economy, job creation, supply chain linkages, etc.
- Gregory Yovanof, the Managing Director of Strategis, a Maritime ICT Cluster in Greece. Mr. Yovanof is a professor and an executive specializing in the applications of advanced ICT technologies in maritime & biotechnology. The Strategis Maritime ICT Cluster (SMICT) located in Piraeus with a global perspective, includes a network of companies, public and private organizations, research & academic institutions, and other stakeholders from the Greek Shipping Hub that focuses on emerging technologies enabling the Digital Shipping, Smart Ports, and sustainable growth in the Blue Economy.
