“We [all] want to see Macedonia as the next startup nation of the Balkans.”

Biljana Markovic Stamenova, co-founder and managing partner at PrimePoint Partners, opened the official launch of PrimePoint Partners new pre-acceleration 10-day program today, on “Advanced and Applied Technologies.” The goal of the acceleration program is to identify regional innovative companies, prepare them and connect them with technology-based corporations so they can expand their business. This is the first of a series of accelerations that PrimePoint plans on organising. 

This accelerator is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel and the Israeli Ambassdor to Macedonia, Mr. Dan Oryan, who attended the official opening. The Ambassador emphasised the importance of sharing knowledge and strengthening the partnership between Israel and Macedonia, stating that “we [all] want to see Macedonia as the next startup nation of the Balkans.” We hope that this will be one of many programs and collaborations to come.

Lecturers will include renowned professors and established business professionals including Prof. Ninoslav Marina, Rector of University for Information Science and Technology “St. Paul the Apostle,” Ohrid, Macedonia; Michael Mizrahi, director of AtoBe, the Azrieli College of Engineering Startup Accelerator; Jasmina Popovska  Ph.D. candidate in innovation policy Business creation manager at EIT Manufacturing Vienna; Ivana Stankovic, Senior Business Advisor at PrimePoint Partners, and as guest lecturer Zoran Martinovski, who has served as the Country Officer at the International Finance Corporation, World Bank Group for more than 20 years and is also an Advisory Board Member of PrimePoint Partners. 

There are 17 registered program participants including established and successful tech-based companies from Macedonia. All of whom will receive a certificate of completion upon attending all the accelerators lectures, and will be partnered with one of the five lecturers, as a mentor, who will help prepare them 1:1 for pitching to Slovenian companies.
